Improving the Cancer Journey
Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey (ICJ) offers everyone affected by cancer (including families and carers) the chance to have a conversation with a dedicated Link Worker to discuss your needs and help access tailored information and support. Cancer doesn't just affect your physical wellbeing, it can affect every aspect of your life from your emotions to your finances. However, often people don't know where to turn for support. That's why Shetland Community Connections, Shetland NHS and Macmillan Cancer Support have launched the Improving the Cancer Journey service here in Shetland. Our service is here to help people affected by cancer get the support they need, whether it's financial, emotional, medical or practical.
You can talk to us about how you feel, get help with housing or money worries, or help at home - whatever matters most to you. Our Link Worker will listen and refer you to organisations, people and services near you that can help. You can access the Improving the Cancer Journey service by calling or emailing to arrange a chat. You can get in touch at any time from diagnosis, after treatment ends, or whenever you have been affected by someone else's cancer.
Financial, practical, physical, emotional, housing. This is a holistic service, there are no limitations.
