Shared Lives Shetland
Shared Lives Shetland has a different approach to social care for Adults 18+.
Participants are telling us that Shared Lives is making a very real difference to them, their wellbeing and overall health
We start by getting to know you, your intrests, wishes and thoughts about what kind of person you would like to be in your life as your support worker.
We then start to look at matching you with one of our Shared Lives self employed support workers. You spend time together before deciding if they are right for you, its your choice.
What's different about Shared Lives Shetland?
We use careful matching between a participant and a Shared Lives support worker/carer.
We base the sessions around the support workers own home , connections and build from there.
Being based within the local community with options to explore outdoors or groups or work on a creative project or find your way to volunteering perhaps. You might share homemade lunch, get involved in local events or simply walk along the nearest beach - ordinary options which can bring peace and calmness or see you on your way to greater independence. You may re start a creative project or find animal care is for you .
Participants are releived of the employer responsibilities as Shared Lives tream work with the administration of the service , leaving you to enjoy the sessions. We remain very much part of the arrangement and support.
A recent unannounced Care Inspectorate Inspection graded us with four fives (Very Good) and no recommendations.
