Personal Assistant required 10 – 12hrs per week in South Mainland
Approx. 10–12 hours per week
Mix of regular and relief positions available
We are looking for kind, reliable and thoughtful Personal Assistants to support a woman in her early 40s living in the South Mainland, who hopes to relocate to Lerwick in the near future. She has a combination of physical and neurological conditions and values calm, compassionate people who work with empathy, honesty and a collaborative attitude, she would also really value personal assistants who can firmly redirect her if she goes off task.
She is warm, creative and intelligent with a great sense of humour and a love of books, music and time spent by the sea. Her home is relaxed, supportive and welcoming.
We aim to build a small team consisting of:
• One Lead PA (to help coordinate rotas and communication)
• Two regular PAs (to share weekly visits)
• Relief PAs (to cover sickness and holidays)
Support will usually take place mornings or early afternoons, though flexibility is helpful depending on health and energy levels.
Tasks Include:
• Personal care: showering, dressing & hair care (3x weekly)
• Light household tasks (tidying, laundry, dishes, changing bedding)
• Basic meal prep & batch cooking (once a week)
• Supporting organisation (mail, simple admin)
• Collecting prescriptions / local shopping (occasional driving)
• Short community outings / social support
• Encouraging routine on lower-energy days
Shadowing and full guidance will be provided.
This is a person-centred role where you will see the positive impact of your support.
We are looking for :
Experience in care or mental health is helpful but not essential.

A driving licence and access to a car are preferred.
