Carers are relatives or friends who provide care or support for someone. Often this is essential to enable the cared-for person to continue to live at home. However, for many carers this can be stressful and an added burden to their normal responsibilities. Carers benefit from some respite, a break from caring, that also allows them to rest. At Shetland Care Attendant Scheme (SCAS) we are looking to recruit Care Attendants for Waking Overnights to help more unpaid carers access vital support through our overnight service.
About the post: Duties will be as specified in individual personal plans. The duties could include but are not limited to:
Social Support: Providing companionship.
Personal Care: Helping with personal daily living tasks that service users cannot manage themselves, help with toileting and changing, assisting services users with washing/bathing and dressing, preparing light meals/snacks.
Additional Care Support: Assist and encourage the management of medication or administer where necessary and appropriate.
Essential Requirements (full details in Application Pack):
• Experience providing personal care and support to individuals within their own home or care setting.
• Current valid, clean UK driving licence.
• Use of own car insured for business use
