How do I access this support ?
We are a small scale service and are building our team of support workers across Shetland.
We are open for referals and very happy to discuss your needs and how to access our service.
We are for Adults over 18+ and provide a "one to one" matched service .
This means we take time to assess your needs and discuss what you would see as a suitable match. We then look to match your needs with the skills and qualities of a support worker.
As the support is within a domestic home there are certain restrictions as to what level of need we can safely support . However we work hard to see how we can find a match that fits both you and a support worker and their house.
The support arrangements range form offering a few hours support a week to multiple days a week. We are also developing our offer of short breaks (overnights) within the support workers own home. Our long term aim is to offer day support , short breaks and long term family placements for adults over 18.
The matching process and choice is key for this different and highly personalised support. We are delighted to have sucessfully established this new and creative and unique additional support provision to Shetland. We know from our participants just how important the matched, one to one support within local communities and ordinary homes is.
If you would like more information then do get in touch with Jane & Yhanna our management team who are able to visit you were you are and discuss the service more fully.
We are a Care Inspectorate registered service and are a charity, third sector provider.
