Personal Assistant required in Whiteness to support an Elderly Lady in her own home - 332614

We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to support a lovely 94-year-old lady living in Whiteness.

She is a very happy, chatty and content lady who enjoys company, however she is living with Alzheimer’s and requires gentle support throughout the day to help maintain her comfort, wellbeing and routine at home.

Duties will include:

• Supporting with getting ready in the morning

• Prompting and assisting with medication

• Encouraging regular drinks and hydration

• Re-heating prepared meals and ensuring meals are eaten

• Basic lunch preparation 

• Providing reassurance, companionship and general wellbeing support

The role requires 4 visits per day at the following times:

(Times may be flexible.)

• Breakfast – 2 hours (4 times per week and 1 hour 3 days per week due to Shower visit from Support at home).  9:30 – 11:30 or 9:30 – 10:30

• Lunch visit 1.25 hour.  12:30 – 13:45

• Tea time visit 1.25 hour.  17:00 – 18:15

• Bedtime visit 1 hour 21:30 – 22:30

We are looking for someone who is:

• Kind, patient, calm, capable and organised.

• Comfortable supporting someone living with dementia/Alzheimer’s

• Friendly and able to provide companionship

• Respectful of maintaining independence and dignity

Experience in care is preferred but not essential for the right person.
